Coresight Research has estimated the U.S. livestream e-commerce market will hit $17 billion in 2022, a large jump over 2021’s estimated $11 billion and 2020's $5.6B. And it will continue growing at a record pace, with Coresight estimating $25 billion by 2023.
Livestream selling currently accounts for about 1.5% of all e-commerce sales. And that pie slice will more than double to 3.3% by 2024. A different report by Mckinsey predicts that live e-commerce sales could account for as much as 20% of all e-commerce by 2026.
In addition to the growth of livestream selling, what we found most interesting in the Coresight research was that 70% of sales from livestreaming happen after the event, on replay.
